PACP is so excited to host esteemed actor, director, and writer Paul Kiernan for a Back to Basics workshop.
A recent transplant to Port Angeles, Kiernan brings more than 30 years of professional experience in regional theater, classical companies, film, television, and radio. He spent ten years writing, performing, and directing for Walt Disney World and has taught at Yale University, Harvard University, Boston College, Brandeis University, the University of Utah, and BYU.
We are very lucky he has graciously offered his time to teach this great workshop, allowing us to offer what would normally be a $400+ workshop for a recommended fee of just $100 (to help cover overhead) or a pay-what-you-can fee.
Designed for both experienced performers and those new to acting, the workshop focuses on reconnecting with the core skills and creative spark that inspire people to perform. Actors will work with monologues and scene material in a collaborative environment designed to challenge, inspire, and strengthen their craft. Sessions will explore improvisation as it relates to text, scene study and character choices, the accessibility of Shakespeare, and clown techniques for character development, along with monologues, games, and audition pieces.
The class meets for four consecutive Saturdays and typically runs three to four hours per session.
