Our Christmas Show

December 6th - 22nd

CHRISTMAS DREAMS by John Robertson
In Depression-era Chicago, young Jackie McArthur struggles to support his grandmother, Abby, while trying to deal with anger at his alcoholic father who recently abandoned them. It is Christmas Eve, and when he learns his father is returning, he makes plans to run away. He is visited by a spirit in the form of a rail-riding tramp and must choose between the love that’s so hard for him to express and the hate that consumes him.
This family story told with realism, humor and love will light every heart that knows betrayal and the healing of forgiveness.

Audition for Enchanted April

Audition for Enchanted April

Auditions, December 11, 14
Show dates February 21 - March 9, 2025.

Three Males (ranging in age from mid-20s to 50+) and five females (mid-20s to 60+) are needed to cast the show. Actors only need to attend one audition session.
Rehearsals start as early as December 30. Rehearsals will generally be 3 or 4 times per week, but in the early weeks not everyone will be required to attend every rehearsal.
The play is based on the novel by Elizabeth von Arnim. Feeling lost in the shadows of marriage and forgotten in the rush of 1920s post-war society, two London housewives pool their savings to rent a villa in Italy for a ladies-only holiday away, reluctantly recruiting a pair of difficult upper-class women to share the cost and the experience. Together under the Mediterranean sun, the four women clash—and then begin to bond and bloom—until men once again upset the balance.
Director Janice Parks says all the characters in this play have experienced a loss of some kind and are working through what that means and how they continue with the rest of their lives. The play is about the transition of leaving a "before" in life and entering an "after." It’s summed up by a line from the script: "Were it only that some enchantment would step in for us all, to change what we have into what we wish for. To bridge the awkward gap between all our many "before"s and "after"s. Because, for every "after" found, a "before" must be lost. And loss is, by nature, an unbalancing thing."
Parks requests that potential cast member avoid watching the movie version of “Enchanted April.” She wants them to look at the script from a fresh perspective.
For anyone wanting to familiarize themselves with the show, perusal copies of the script are available at the Sequim and Port Angeles public libraries. If you wish to audition but cannot make the scheduled audition dates, or if you have additional questions about the play or roles, contact PACP board member Ken Winters at kenpacp@gmail.com.
