Coming July 12th!!

The Port Angeles Community Players (PACP) summer production of “The Curate Shakespeare As You Like It”, by Don Nigro, will be on the Playhouse main stage at 1235 E. Lauridsen Blvd. Fridays, Saturdays, and Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m. from July 12 – July 28. The doors and bar open 30 minutes before curtain time.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $9 for students. Tuesday nights, any remaining tickets are $9 at the door. Tickets are available online at https://www.pacommunityplayers.org or at the box office 30 minutes before each performance.
When the prolific Mr. Nigro was asked by a professional theatre company to adapt “As You Like It” so that it could be performed by a company of seven, he devised this completely original play about a rag tag group of players led by a dotty old curate who must present Shakespeare's play. The dramatic interest and the comedy derive from their hilarious attempts to impersonate all of Shakespeare's characters. The play has become an underground comic classic nationwide, with popularity growing internationally.
The PACP cast, led by director Anna Andersen, bring to the stage romance, wrestling matches, a crying clown, rapid costume changes, a surprising ukulele debut, and a catastrophe of spiraling events that will leave audiences in stiches.
Andersen says this was the “First community play I directed, right out of college. Best experience of my life. Now I'll be doing it with a mostly female cast and I. Can't. Wait.”
